Counselling is a way to work through challenges and problems with the help of a trained counselor. Within the workplace, it is done to help employees become more productive and happier with their work and to achieve a better work-life balance.

Employee counselling is not mandatory, however it can be recommended by the employer with the intention to provide the individual with insights enabling them to improve job performance and work life balance.

Often employees face stress related workloads (meeting targets, dealing with subordinates, colleagues, time management, work-life balance etc)

According to recent research, more than half of all Australian workers agree increasing change and complexity at work are leading to job dissatisfaction and more frequent high levels of stress at work.

Additionally, the research found more than 40 per cent of workers see the shift to a more connected global economy having a significant impact on the way they work. This is correlated with frequent high stress levels at work and absenteeism.

What are the warning signs of stress?

  • Upset stomach.
  • Dry mouth.
  • Chest pains, rapid heartbeat.
  • Difficulty falling or staying asleep.
  • Fatigue.
  • Loss of appetite or overeating “comfort foods”
